If you’ve decided to upgrade to a new Bryant system, you’ll find there are a number of systems to choose from. Bryant produces air conditioners and heat pumps in three lines: Legacy, Preferred and Evolution. For most homes, either Legacy or Preferred will be the best choice.
Legacy Line
Legacy™ Line Central Air Conditioner — Air conditioners in this line run on environmentally friendly R-410a refrigerant and achieve up to 16.0 SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficciency Ratio) and 9.0 HSPF (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor). The steel louvered coil guard and DuraGuard™ protection package defend your outdoor unit from damage and harsh weather.
Legacy™ Line Heat Pump— Legacy heat pumps are very similar to the A/C units in this line. They run on R-410a and reach the same SEER and HSPF. They also come with a steel louvered coil guard and DuraGuard™ protection.
Preferred Series
Preferred™ Series Central Air Conditioner — Like the Legacy, Preferred Series air conditioner models use R-410A. The primary difference is a slight increase in cooling efficiency. These units reach up to 16.5 SEER and 9.5 HSPF. The DuraFlow™ louvered coil guard and DuraGuard™ Plus system help these models stand up to the elements better than those in the Legacy Line. The filter drier helps your A/C air filter last longer. Preferred™ Series Heat Pump— With all the features of the Preferred Series A/C units, these heat pumps are the best choice if you’re looking for durable, higher-efficiency equipment that can both cool and heat.
Preferred™ Series Side-Discharge Horizontal Air Conditioner — Side discharge units are compact models designed for small spaces, such as decks and patios. For this reason, they’re also especially quiet. With a SEER of up to 15.5 and an HSPF of up to 9.0, though, these models are slightly less efficient than standard designs.
Preferred™ Series Side-Discharge Horizontal Heat Pump— With the efficiency and features of the air conditioners in this series, these compact units can help you heat and cool indoors while saving space outdoors.
